PEORIA, Ariz — A woman shot a man outside a grocery store on Friday afternoon and later shot and killed herself at another location.

The shooting happened near a Safeway on El Mirage Road and Vistancia Boulevard, officials said. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police told 12News the shooting suspect fled the area in a vehicle following the incident and was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

At this time, the department believes the man and woman may have known each other. Police said the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.
