BENSON, Ariz. — A person is dead after being shot by Arizona state troopers during a traffic stop Monday morning near Benson, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The shooting happened shortly after 8 a.m. along westbound Interstate 10.
Authorities said no troopers were hurt.
The Department of Public Safety said its Major Incident Division is investigating what led up to the shooting.
Officials have not released the identity of the person who was killed or shared additional details about what happened during the stop. More information is expected to be released as the investigation continues.
