MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. — The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office reported seeing a substantial uptick in boat traffic during the Memorial Day weekend, resulting in dozens of citations being issued for various infractions.

In total, MCSO patrol boats made contact with 486 boats on Lake Havasu and the Lower Colorado River during the three-day weekend and 80 various citations were issued by deputies.

One person was arrested for operating while impaired and four minors were detained for alcohol consumption.

Eight people had to be rescued from the water and four boating collisions were reported to the sheriff’s office.

During the Memorial Day weekend of 2025, the sheriff’s office reported making contact with 200 boaters and issuing 30 citations.
