CHANDLER, Ariz. — A Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office detention deputy was arrested in Chandler and accused of child sex trafficking, court records show.

On May 27, 37-year-old Emmanuel Carreon thought he was talking to a 15-year-old girl through social media, but he was actually talking to an undercover police officer.

Court records reveal that Carreon requested to have sex with the underage teen in exchange for $200.

The next day, the man contacted the 15-year-old again and asked for $100 in exchange for sex.

Pictures sent by Carreon to the undercover police officer positively identified him.

Court records show that Carreon contacted the victim to meet her in Chandler.

The police officers were waiting for Carreon at the location, and he was taken into custody after a traffic stop. Officials said his phone, used to contact the victim, was found in the car, along with the money he was willing to pay in exchange for sex.

During a post-Miranda interview, Carreon allegedly admitted that he was showing up to Chandler to have sex with an underage teen and was willing to pay $100. Court records show he admitted to knowing the conduct was wrong.

MCSO has released the following statement about Carreon’s arrest:

The Chandler Police Department has an ongoing criminal investigation into Detention Deputy Emmanuel Carreon. Carreon graduated from the MCSO Detention Academy in April 2026 and was assigned to the Lower Buckeye Jail. Carreon is currently on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

We remain committed to working with the Chandler Police Department and maintaining the integrity of the investigative process and upholding the standards and accountability expected of all employees.

Carreon has been booked on one count of child sex trafficking.
