The collision happened just before 10 a.m. near Power Road and Queen Creek Road, according to the Gilbert Police Department.

Officials say an adult male riding an e-bike suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. Police noted he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Preliminary information suggests the e-bike rider may have run a red light before colliding with the vehicle.

Gilbert PD’s Traffic Reconstruction Team is investigating to determine the exact cause of the crash. Road restrictions remain in place in the area while the investigation continues.
