PHOENIX — A two-vehicle collision seriously injured a pedestrian and closed the El Mirage Road and Peoria Avenue intersection on Thursday morning, El Mirage Police said.

Officers said there are reports of more injured people, “but the extent and nature of those injuries are not yet known.”

Police responded to the crash about 8:20 a.m. and found a semi-truck and a car involved in the crash, according to police.

PD said, “witnesses reported a pedestrian had been struck and seriously injured.” 

Medical personnel began life-saving measures on the pedestrian, police reported.  

Police said motorists should avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
