NEW RIVER, Ariz. — Six people are injured after a crash in New River, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said.
Around 11 p.m. Saturday, deputies were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash near 12th Street and the Carefree Highway. According to officials, both cars caught fire.
MCSO said six people were taken to hospitals with ‘minor to major injuries.’ As of Sunday morning, three people remain in critical condition.
Daisy Mountain Fire said four patients suffered burn injuries and all fires were quickly extinguished.

Details on what led up to the crash remain under investigation.
The driver who caused the crash is reportedly being investigated for possible impairment.
