PHOENIX — A man has been arrested for breaking into the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office and having sexual contact with dead people.

Deputies were called to the medical examiner’s office on Wednesday around 1:30 a.m. for reports of a possible burglary, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Maricopa County Security Services and the Phoenix Police Department helped deputies search the building and found Fenris Lu inside. 

Lu was arrested for burglary, criminal damage and multiple counts of sexual contact with a dead person.

Lu was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday afternoon, but was not brought into the courtroom because he was “high profile and combative.” 

In court, prosecutors said investigators were working to notify the next of kin of those involved.
