PHOENIX — One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries following a shooting in Phoenix on Wednesday night.

Officers were called to the area of 17th Avenue and Bell Road around 8 p.m. for reports of a shooting, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police then went to a nearby apartment looking for the suspect, but did not locate them.
