PHOENIX — A man has been recently sentenced to six years in prison after stealing from multiple sporting goods retailers across the Valley between October and November 2025, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

MCAO said 32-year-old Connor Burgess committed a series of retail thefts that resulted in $26,000 in losses.

In one incident, he reportedly stole seven golf clubs valued at more than $4,200 from a Dick’s Sporting Goods store.

The attorney’s office said investigators later linked him to six additional thefts at multiple PGA TOUR Superstores, another Dick’s Sporting Goods and a Scheels location.

Surveillance video captured Burgess committing the crimes, and investigators identified the 32-year-old after seeing him attempting to sell the merchandise online.

Burgess was sentenced after pleading guilty to three counts of organized retail theft.
