WASHINGTON — A soup sold at Whole Foods stores and online in 17 states has been recalled for a possible undeclared allergen.

Massachusetts-based Kettle Cuisine on Thursday recalled 24 ounce cups of Whole Foods Market Kitchen Minestrone Soup, which may contain undeclared shrimp.
People who are allergic to shrimp run the risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat the soup, according to the recall notice from the Food and Drug Administration.
No injuries have been reported to date in connection to the soup, the FDA said.
The recalled soup is packaged in a 24-ounce, clear plastic cup marked with lot code 1762181 and a use-by date of May 27, 2026, on the top rim of the cup. A UPC identifier of 099482502065 is on the back label. No other soups or use-by codes are affected in this recall.

The soup was sold online from Whole Foods and Amazon, and in Whole Foods locations in the following states:
- Alabama
- Connecticut
- Florida
- Georgia
- Massachusetts
- Maryland
- Maine
- Mississippi
- North Carolina
- New Hampshire
- New Jersey
- New York
- Pennsylvania
- Rhode Island
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Virginia
- Washington, D.C.
The recall was initiated after a single cup of soup in-store was found to contain the wrong product and contained shrimp, the FDA said.
Consumers who bought the recalled product can return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions can contact the company 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday at 617-409-1100.
