{"id":1282,"date":"2026-05-28T18:34:42","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T18:34:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scottsdalemovinghub.com\/?p=1282"},"modified":"2026-05-28T18:34:42","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T18:34:42","slug":"former-habitat-for-humanity-director-convicted-of-embezzlement-fraud-in-arizona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scottsdalemovinghub.com\/?p=1282","title":{"rendered":"Former Habitat for Humanity director convicted of embezzlement, fraud in Arizona"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<p>YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. \u2014 The former executive director of Habitat for Humanity&#8217;s chapter in Prescott has been found guilty of embezzling large sums of money.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/scottsdalemovinghub.com\/?p=1280\">Mom pleads guilty to theft for continuing to collect ESA money after moving to Texas<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>A jury has convicted Karen Northcutt, 62,\u00a0of fraud, theft, evidence tampering, money laundering and trafficking stolen property for offenses committed while leading the charitable organization that builds affordable housing for low-income populations.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The Yavapai County Attorney&#8217;s Office said Prescott police opened an investigation into the defendant in 2024 after receiving an anonymous letter about Northcutt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>An investigation revealed Northcutt had used Habitat for Humanity&#8217;s accounts to pay her mortgage, buy cars and several other expenditures.
