WASHINGTON \u2014 More than 150,000 electric kettles are being recalled after reports of handles separating from the devices, causing hot water to spill and burn users.<\/p>

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of ZWILLING J.A. Henckels Enfinigy electric kettles May 14 after getting 163 reports of handles loosening or separating. Five incidents included spilled hot contents and at least one second-degree burn injury.<\/p> <\/div>\n

The recall affects two models of 1.5-liter stainless steel kettles: the Enfinigy Electric Kettle and Enfinigy Pro Electric Kettle. They come in various colors, including: black, silver, rose, gold and white. They were sold at HomeGoods stores nationwide and online at zwilling.com between December 2019 and February 2026 for $120 to $200.<\/p> <\/div>\n

Consumers can identify recalled kettles by checking the bottom of the device and power base for “ZWILLING” branding and model numbers: 53101-200, 53101-201, 53101-500, 53101-501, 53101-502, 53101-503, and 53101-504.<\/p>

Customers can get a refund for the recalled item. To receive a refund, consumers must first make the kettle unusable by unplugging it, cutting the power cord and uploading a photo of the product to www.zwilling.com\/kettle-recall. The damaged kettle should then be safely thrown out. Refunds could take “up to” three weeks to go through, the recall website said.\u00a0<\/p> <\/div>\n

About 44,000 additional units were sold in Canada and 48 in Mexico.\u00a0<\/p> <\/div>\n

\n

Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled kettles immediately due to the burn hazard.<\/p>
