GLENDALE, Ariz. \u2014 A shooting involving officers occurred in a Glendale strip mall on May 20, Glendale police confirmed with 12News.<\/p>\n

Around 10 a.m., police were called to a suspicious person call at a business near 63rd Avenue and Bell Road.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

A man and woman entered a business, and the woman asked to purchase a firearm. An employee of the business noticed the woman had an injury on her hand, police said, and showed the employee.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

The woman then mouthed “Call 911” to the employee, prompting the worker to contact Glendale police.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Upon arrival, a police officer gave commands to the male subject. Police said the man got behind the woman and allegedly put his arm around her neck. When he allegedly reached for a knife from his waistband, an officer fired a shot at the man.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The man sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to a hospital. Police said no officers were injured.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Police said another officer at the scene had deployed a taser before the firearm was used.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

No suspects are outstanding, and there is no harm to the public.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The strip mall will be closed for several hours as police investigate.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
