PHOENIX — Countless organizations and cities across the Valley will be honoring and remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving our country this Memorial Day, May 25.

Here are a few Memorial Day events happening across the Valley.
National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona’s Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony
The ceremony starts at 8 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. The event is free for everyone.
Governor Katie Hobbs is expected to give remarks alongside service members and veterans.
Heard Museum’s Memorial Day Ceremony
The Heard Museum is observing the holiday by honoring Indigenous veterans.
The museum is having a flag-raising ceremony starting at 10 a.m. Then there will be a performance of drum songs in remembrance of fallen veterans.
At noon, a storytelling session will start, led by the South Mountain Community College Storytelling Institute. This will include an open mic for the public to share.
City of Avondale’s Memorial Day Ceremony
This ceremony will take place at the Avondale Civic Center Amphitheater at 8:30 a.m.
The event will have a musical tribute to fallen service members as well as a commemorative flag presentation.
This ceremony is free and open to the public. The city encourages attendees to bring lawn chairs or blankets due to the amphitheater seating.

North West Valley Veterans Association Memorial Day Ceremony
This event is set to take place at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City at 9 a.m.
At 9:30 a.m., there will be a flyover of the Falcon War Birds in vintage military aircraft. During the ceremony, there will be a special tribute to military nurses and veterans from all branches.
This ceremony is free to the public. There will be water available as well as a barbeque buffet after the event sponsored by Dignity Health.
San Tan Memorial Gardens 10th Annual Memorial Day Service
This event will be at the San Tan Memorial Gardens at Schnepf Farms starting at 9 a.m.
During the ceremony, there will be guest speakers, a flag presentation, music and an airplane flyover. A blood drive will also be on site from 9 a.m. to noon.
The event is free and open to the public.
Mountain View Funeral Home’s Memorial Day Ceremony
This event will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home in Mesa and Cemetery at 8 a.m.
There will be wreath-laying, military honors and music honoring fallen service members.
