PHOENIX — A woman is dead after she was involved in a traffic collision Wednesday morning in south Phoenix.

On May 27 at about 9:30 a.m., Phoenix police officers responded to the area of 7th Avenue and Broadway Road for reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers located a woman who had sustained critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle. She was transported to a hospital and succumbed to her injuries.

Police said the involved vehicle remained at the scene. The driver reportedly did not show signs of impairment.

The woman had been operating an electric scooter and she “failed to control its speed” before colliding with a car entering a private drive, Phoenix police said.
