MARANA, Ariz. — Multiple guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition were seized during a traffic stop near Marana, and troopers believe they were destined for Mexico.

Troopers stopped a driver shortly after midnight on Thursday, May 21, near Marana for traffic violations, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
During the stop, the driver denied having firearms, but troopers said they could see several gun cases in the car.

During a search of the car, troopers found ten guns, including two machine guns, an AK-47, an automatic rifle, and six handguns.
Detectives also located 5,000 rounds of ammunition and miscellaneous gun parts.
The investigation revealed the driver was not legally allowed to own firearms, and he was arrested.
