PHOENIX — The average price at the gas pump in Phoenix has been gradually dropping but remains well above the prices seen this same time last year.

Phoenix’s average gas price on June 1 was $4.67, a 16-cent dropped compared to a month ago but $1.18 higher than the average seen in June 2025, according to an analysis by GasBuddy.
The cheapest gas station in the Phoenix area was recorded as being $4.14 and the most expensive station was $5.69, according to GasBuddy’s survey of stations across the Valley.
GasBuddy has recorded seeing prices fall below $4 in at least 15 states but, unfortunately, Arizona’s average price remains well over $4.

“Much of the decline was driven by falling oil prices and the unwinding of recent price cycles, as growing optimism surrounding a potential U.S.-Iran agreement helped ease concerns over global oil supplies,” Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said in a statement.
Phoenix’s prices started to escalate back in March following the U.S.-Israel attacks on Iran. Late March and early April was a rough time for Phoenix drivers as gas prices were hovering around $5 per gallon.
