WASHINGTON — More than 1 million phones were forgotten in Uber cars last year, according to the company’s annual lost and found index.
The list includes the weirdest items left in an Uber, the most commonly forgotten items and even names the “most forgetful cities.” Did you contribute to these numbers?
Here’s what the report found.
Most commonly forgotten items
Some commonly forgotten items that didn’t make the list were Crocs, Labubu dolls, smoking devices (vapes, e-cigarettes, etc.) and hats.

- Headphones
- Clothing
- Passport
- Glasses
- Jewelry
- Laptop
There were also common days and times to forget certain items — IDs and wallets on Mondays; headphones on Tuesdays, chargers on Wednesdays, bags on Thursdays, keys on Fridays, fonts on Saturdays and glasses on Sundays.
Sundays were also generally the most forgetful days of the week.
The 10 most “forgetful” cities
New York City once again topped the chart as the “most forgetful” city. It’s not clear why the city is so forgetful, but aggregated data from both the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission’s Monthly Indicators and FHV Base Aggregate reports say nearly 500,000 Ubers were taken in the “Big Apple” every day.
