PHOENIX — A Memphis Grizzlies player with ties to the Valley has died.
The team announced Tuesday that Brandon Clarke died at the age of 29.
“Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten,” the team shared on X. “We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Details about how Clarke died were not immediately released.
Clarke was born in Canada, but moved to Phoenix during his early years. He attended Desert Vista High School in Phoenix before being drafted in the NBA in 2019.
