GOODYEAR, Ariz. — A sportscar worth an estimated $75,000 was recovered this week in the West Valley by law enforcement officials after it had been stolen.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the Nissan GT-R sportscar was found on May 12 after investigators executed a search warrant near Van Buren Street and Sarival Avenue in Goodyear. The car’s VIN number had been altered, apparently in an attempt to conceal the theft.
Valdemar Quidera Jr., 36, was arrested for allegedly being involved in the vehicle theft, DPS said.

Investigators were led to the West Valley residence after receiving an anonymous tip.
The agency said anyone buying a car through a private seller should always verify the vehicle’s VIN before making a purchase and to cancel the transaction if it seems suspicious.
