PHOENIX — A man sustained fatal injuries after he was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in Phoenix.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m. on May 27, officers responded to the area of 27th Avenue and Ocotillo Road and found an injured pedestrian. The 59-year-old man died at the scene.

Preliminary information suggests the man was crossing northbound on 27th Avenue mid-block and not using a crosswalk when he was hit by a pickup truck. The driver remained at the scene and no signs of impairment were observed, police said.
Speed does not appear to be a factor in causing the collision, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
