The “King of the Hill”-themed cans of WD-40 can be bought nationwide at Home Depot locations now through Aug. 31.
This is a collaboration nearly 30 years in the making, after an iconic joke in the show’s second season involving protagonist Hank Hill using a smaller can of WD-40 to open the stuck cap of a larger can of WD-40. The can was also in the series premiere and has even made a cameo in the series’ revival on Hulu.
“WD-40 Multi-Use Product has been a trusted solution for more than 70 years, and our end users have always been at the heart of everything we do,” Patricia Olsem, Division President, Americas, at WD-40 Company, said in a statement. “The limited-edition can is a celebration of our fans and a way to honor a piece of the brand’s legacy.”

According to the WD-40 Company, the brand had asked fans on social media what they wanted to see on limited-edition cans of the product, and “King of the Hill” was the most popular response.
The can itself features the famous fence Hank and his friends stand in front of in the alley while drinking beer, along with the series’ logo and the tagline “Two American icons. One limited-edition can.” There are also illustrations of common uses for WD-40 on the back done in the series’ animation style.
