Pasqual, 36, was sentenced at the San Fernando Courthouse for multiple felonies spanning from January to May 2024. A jury convicted him last month of attempted murder, forcible rape, first-degree residential burglary and multiple other charges.
During Tuesday’s sentencing hearing, Shehorn delivered a victim impact statement recounting the terror of the attack.
“When I was lying on the floor in a pool of my own blood, I remembered wondering if this was how my life was going to end,” she said, according to ABC7 in Los Angeles. “I was terrified, I was in pain.”
Shehorn survived after undergoing emergency surgery and extensive medical treatment but said she was left with permanent injuries, emotional trauma and mounting medical bills.

Pasqual broke into Shehorn’s home around 4:30 a.m. on May 23, 2024, and stabbed her more than 20 times in the neck, chest, back, abdomen, arms and wrists before fleeing toward the U.S.-Mexico border, prosecutors said. He was later detained at a Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas, and extradited to Los Angeles County to face charges.
Before the attack, Shehorn had filed a restraining order against Pasqual. Court records also show he was convicted of one count of forcible rape stemming from a month prior to the stabbing.
Representatives for Pasqual issued a statement on his behalf following the sentencing: “I remain deeply saddened by everything surrounding this case, and I continue to wish healing and peace for everyone affected. I am grateful to those who have supported me during this process, and I intend to remain focused on sobriety, recovery, accountability, and a respectful appellate process moving forward.”
According to his IMDb page, Pasqual appeared as Will in Season 7, Episode 5 of “How I Met Your Mother,” titled “Field Trip.” He also appeared in the indie movie “Poor Paul,” and had uncredited roles on Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire” and the Ashton Kutcher-starring Steve Jobs biopic, “Jobs.”
