PHOENIX — A Winslow woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police say she crashed into a wall behind a home and struck a pedestrian in the process.

Officers arrived at the crash after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls, near Campbell Avenue and Maple Street, and found the victim, Berenice Carmona-Hernandez, 28, suffering from severe injuries, according to the Winslow Police Department.
During the investigation, officers arrested the driver, Monica Hernandez, 50, for attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault. Hernandez was booked into the Navajo County Jail.
Police have not shared what led up to the crash. Anyone with information involving the crash is urged to call (928) 289-1433.
