The Center for Biological Diversity has released images that appear to show Cinco, an adult male jaguar, walking in the Sky Island mountain range located south of Tucson. Remote wildlife cameras recorded the footage between March and April, according to the organization.
Cinco is one of multiple jaguars to be documented through monitoring efforts conducted by the Wild Cat Research and Conservation Center.
Jaguar populations used to live throughout the American Southwest but the species has largely disappeared from the region due to hunting and habitat loss, according to the wildlife officials.
