PHOENIX — Law enforcement officials are investigating a deadly collision reported Thursday evening in south Phoenix.

At about 10 p.m., police responded to the area of 7th and Elwood streets, south of the Salt River, for reports of a traffic incident involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers found a subject who had been injured.
The man died at the scene. His identity was not disclosed.
The involved car fled the area before officers arrived at the scene, police said.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
