PHOENIX — A woman is dead after being hit by multiple cars on a Valley freeway this weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened Saturday, May 16, around 2:30 a.m. near Northern Avenue on State Route 303.
The department said the woman was crossing the southbound lanes of the freeway when she was hit by a white pickup truck and then two more cars.
The woman killed in the crash has been identified as 52-year-old Valerie Theresa Chesnut from Goodyear.

DPS said they are looking for a white pickup truck that may be involved in this deadly crash.
The department described the pickup truck as “a heavy‑duty, dual‑axle (dually) pickup truck towing a car‑hauler trailer, which may have been traveling in the direction of California.”
The DPS’s Vehicular Crimes Unit is investigating this crash.
