Around 10 a.m., police were called to a suspicious person call at a business near 63rd Avenue and Bell Road.

A man and woman entered a business, and the woman asked to purchase a firearm. An employee of the business noticed the woman had an injury on her hand, police said, and showed the employee.

The woman then mouthed “Call 911” to the employee, prompting the worker to contact Glendale police.

Upon arrival, a police officer gave commands to the male subject. Police said the man got behind the woman and allegedly put his arm around her neck. When he allegedly reached for a knife from his waistband, an officer fired a shot at the man.
